The Vector Optics Tauron Gen II 5‑40x56 ED is engineered for medium‑to‑long‑range precision, delivering high optical clarity through its ED glass system and a reinforced mechanical platform designed for consistent, repeatable and reliable shot execution in demanding hunting and precision shooting environments. The large 56 mm ED objective lens combined with premium glass ensures excellent light transmission, reduced chromatic aberration, and high‑definition clarity across the entire 5‑40x magnification range. Constructed from high‑strength 6061‑T6 aluminum, the scope features fully multi‑coated lenses that enhance contrast, reduce glare and improve target definition at both medium and extended distances. The reinforced 34 mm nitrogen‑purged monotube provides solid structural rigidity and supports a wide internal adjustment range, offering precise 0.1 MIL click values ideal for fine long‑range corrections and rapid adjustments during medium‑range engagements. The etched IR FFP VTA‑8 MIL reticle is designed for fast, intuitive precision targeting, offering a clean layout with refined subtensions, holdover references and wind grids optimized for accurate target acquisition and efficient shot correction at any magnification. The elevation turret includes a mechanical zero‑stop system for instant and repeatable return‑to‑zero, while the side‑focus and illumination controls support both medium‑range sight‑in work and low‑light hunting scenarios, with IR illumination enhancing reticle visibility in challenging light conditions. With generous eye relief and a precision‑focused design, the 5‑40x56 ED is ideal for shooters demanding optical quality, versatility, and reliability in medium‑to‑long‑range precision shooting. Included accessories: Medium Picatinny mounts, bikini‑style lens caps, cleaning cloth and a sunshade. Medium‑to‑Long‑Range Precision / Technical Shooting and Demanding Hunting Modern precision shooting and hunting disciplines originate from practical field use. Given the complexity and challenge of these environments, the optics used must excel in every aspect to meet high performance demands. Technical hunting and long‑range shooting require optics capable of maintaining clarity, stability and reliable mechanical performance in demanding conditions and rapidly changing light environments. The 5‑40x56 ED provides the magnification range, optical resolution and mechanical consistency required for confident medium‑range shots and long‑distance precision. VTA‑8 MIL RETICLE DESIGN FEATURES The VTA‑8 MIL reticle is optimized for precision shooting and technical hunting, offering a fast, uncluttered layout with precise subtensions for accurate holds, corrections and target transitions. INTUITIVE CENTER AND FLOATING AIMING POINT A fine center dot provides an exact aiming reference for precision shots at any magnification. The floating center structure maintains visibility at low magnification without obscuring small or distant targets, while IR illumination ensures clear reticle definition in low‑light conditions. PRECISION‑FOCUSED SUBTENSIONS The reticle includes detailed subtension marks for micro‑adjustments, supporting fast and accurate corrections without relying on turret adjustments during medium‑to‑long‑range sessions. TACTICAL HOLDOVER GRID A structured holdover grid provides rapid elevation references and intuitive range compensation for multi‑distance target arrays. Horizontal windage markers offer clear lateral references for wind calls and moving targets. NUMBERED MARKINGS FOR FAST USE Numbered vertical graduations allow shooters to identify common hold points instantly, improving speed during follow‑up shots and transitions. TAPERED POSTS AND RAPID ACQUISITION Tapered bars guide the eye toward the center without dominating the sight picture. Thicker outer posts enhance rapid target acquisition while preserving fine central detail. FFP BENEFITS Designed for First Focal Plane use, the VTA‑8 MIL reticle scales proportionally with magnification, offering precise and consistent holdovers at any zoom level.
